Mark is so brilliantly right!!! I learned this lesson the hard way.
Don't trust someone's word, unless you are prepared to work for free, or to go to the court. There is another thing to be aware of: if the other party goes bankruptcy, you will get nothing even you have the best lawyer in the world. If a good lawyer is not willing to work for you on contingency bases, a red flag should be raised.
If you don't like dealing with lawyers like me, working for free until you find a new job. Why? Since if you are working, you have better chance to find a new job faster. Looking for another horse when you are on a horse!!! Believe me or not? The old Chinese saying has some truth in it! Good luck!
